Quartz sand for an aquarium

Natural natural quartz soil for a decor of aquariums with cold, fresh and sea water.

Quartz sand for an aquarium:

- does not increase hardness of water;

- it is steady against CO2;

- it is neutral to water parameters;

- is ideally suited for growth of live plants;

- does not allocate in water of harmful substances, it is safe for fishes and plants.

 Whether it is possible to use quartz sand for soil in aquariums?

   If the aquarium is inhabited only by fishes, then many fans do not use soil that facilitates care of it. But if in it there are plants, then not to do without soil as it serves as a substratum for plants. And to small fishes in it it is quite good, they in it spawn. In this case the quartz sand which is the simplest and available option perfectly acts as soil. It consists generally of granules of a mineral of quartz and promotes removal from water of iron and manganese. 

 

Preparation of quartz soil for laying.    

   Any soil before laying has to undergo cleaning procedure. Before filling in an aquarium soil needs to be washed out flowing water, do not add at the same time any detergents. Instead of chemical processing it is better to address boiling or calcinating of sand. It is necessary to boil soil within 15 minutes, it is continuous stirring. Calcinate sand in an oven: evenly distribute it on a baking sheet and leave for half an hour at a centigrade temperature.
